Successful projects often start with the identification of a site that can achieve the program goals for the facility. This seminar will provide an in-depth review of successful site selection techniques and the changing technologies that impact site selection. We will review the most common search criteria for sites including: location relative to the population demand, proximity to utilities, location relative to transportation and effective usable acreage. We will also look at a methodical approach to site selection that allows for the evaluation of a wide range of variables including: environmental features, zoning limitations, soils, drainage, transportation, and utilities.
