Description:  Course has been designed to acquaint the viewer with the many aspects of FEMA 361, ICC Standard 500 and Life Safety Code Requirements and how those Code Requirements affect storm shelter design.

Learning Objectives:

1) Attendees will be able to analyze the requirements for storm shelter design and construction based on IBC Section 423 and the ICC Standard 500.
2) Learners will be able to list fundamental differences between Icc Standard 500 and FEMA 361.
3) By examining case studies, attendees will learn the best design and constructions options for storm shelters.
4) Participants will learn the difference between operational wind load and static wind load.
