Message from the President

Here’s to 2021 and hopes for a “new” year… In 2020, we were all profoundly affected by unprecedented events that significantly impacted the way we live, conduct business, and connect with one another. As the 2021 president, I plan to shape our chapter’s focus around a mission to reconnect, rebuild, and rethink. We want to be creative and find new ways to reconnect safely and comfortably as a chapter, we want to work together to rebuild the overall membership and volunteer base, and rethink what our chapter can provide for its members in the future. As we continue to navigate this ever-evolving time, I look forward to serving the chapter and being an advocate for important issues within our community.

2020 ELA Class Book

AIA Virginia’s Emerging Leaders in Architecture (ELA) class of 2020 has documented their project in an amazing book. Join them through their journey as they develop ideas to rejuvenate downtown Portsmouth. It provides great insight to the process of design and the ELA program as a whole. Overall this book comes highly recommended for firms who plan on having employees participate in the future. If you are interested in purchasing a copy for $30, please email Catherine Hendrick at [email protected] within the next two weeks.
